30th of Kythorn, 1492

The Maid of Misfortune has been merciful to our fellowship throughout our voyage home, and at last, we have arrived back in The City of Splendors. We have been directed to stay in accommodations provided by the Council of Waterdeep.

Tomorrow, the city celebrates Founder’s Day. Even as a traveler and mere observer, I can feel the city’s anticipation vibrating like the strings of Tegan’s lyre. The streets are alive with preparations, banners unfurling like sails in the wind, and the scent of festive foodstuffs wafts from every corner.

In the morning, we will meet with the council to debrief, and discuss our next plans, but hopefully the meeting will not take the whole day. No doubt Brick, Gunx and Tolarin will want to watch the City Guard’s martial demonstrations, and Tegan will doubtless want to take part in the costume contests. I’m sure Jorad, like myself, is keen to witness the annual veiling of Castle Waterdeep with an illusion that makes it appear like the ancient fortress of Nimoar.

Beshaba willing, we will find time to take in some of the festivities, after we talk business, klaatu barada nikto amen.
